30 minuts: The inclusive school
A report on the challenges and hopes of educational inclusion
The Inclusive School is a report produced by The Folks Films and broadcast on the 30 minuts program on 3Cat. Co-directed by Carla Gracia and Albert Folk, it is born from a personal experience: their family’s journey within the education system after their son, Gael, was diagnosed with autism.
The piece gives voice to families, teachers, educational psychologists and mental health professionals to portray the complexity of the inclusive school model in Catalonia. A decade after the approval of Decree 150/2017, the report raises a key question: do we have the resources and support necessary to make this right real and effective?
With a close and honest narrative, L’escola inclusiva focuses on the daily difficulties of children and teachers, but also on the hope of a community that demands change. Its broadcast generated intense social and media debate, and connected with thousands of people who saw their own experience reflected.
